August 12-21,2016 | State Fair of West Virginia

Fairlea, WV.  Enjoy exhibits of the best of the Mountain State, not to mention, awesome food, rides, and displays!  Make sure to stop in Monroe on your way to the State Fair of West Virginia

August 27, 2016 | Union's Last Blast of Summer Featuring 'War Comes to Union' Reenactment

Union, WV.  Union Chamber of Commerce hosts this annual event.  Popular Cruise-In Car Show will be back this year, along with many other great activities for the whole family.  Check out the schedule here.  New this year, the Monroe County Heritage Days presents 'War Comes to Union'.  This living history event will attempt to portray the 1864 Federal occupation of Union's historic district and surroundings.  Ther will be drills, demonstrations throughout the encampment.  In Union and the vicinity there are several historic structures whil will serve as scenes for scenarios of events that happened.  For more information about the living history event featured at Union's Last blast, check out the official website or contact: 304-772-4712.  War Comes to Union Schedule.

September 3, 2016 | Rustic Lux Decor and Staging 1st Year Anniversary Celebration

September 10, 2016 | JAKES Day

Moncove Lake State Park, Gap Mills, WV.  The JAKES field day will provide opportunities for youth up to 17 years of age to experience the outdoors through hands-on events, education, fellowship and family fun. Those attending the National Wild Turkey Federation, JAKES (Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship) program will learn about hunting, camping, fishing and many other conservation-related topics. Attendees must preregister. Limited to 100 youth.

September 24-25, 2016 | Autumn Harvest Festival

WVU Willow Bend Farm, 4 Miles South of Union, WV on Willow Bend Road
Festival celebrating the end of the agricultural season. Come for the best food; country, live bluegrass & gospel music; handmade quilts & crafts. Vegetable, flower, quilt & art contests. Horseshoe & corn hole tournaments. Youth tractor pull. Apple butter making will be demonstrated and the results will be sold. Large flea market. Free admittance. Contact: 304-772-5475.

October 8, 2016 | Peterstown Heritage Festival
